After Thoughts

I know.. It's been two weeks since I came back from Vancouver, and still no blogging about what happened there? I've been extremely busy these days. Lots of work are coming in, and some of them are due in this month. I was working so intensely, but I had to get some rest yesterday since I felt a little sick. Today, I am recovered, trying to lay back still, so I am blogging.

It was so amazing that I was able to face to those who are involeved in developing Sxore, Ma.gnolia, WordPress, Drupal, Flock and so on.. in one place! I was actually able to introduce myself to some people who bumped on me. Here are some of my afterthoughts..

How to add sxore to your blog by Weston from SXIP
Yeah, I've been seeing so many Drupal sites around Vancouver area and it's way exploding! I can't help thinking there should be one central authorization for these many websites out there. Don't you just use the same name to sign in anyway? Obviously, I'm not the only one who think about it. SXORE may be the answer for this, so I should give a try on this. The plug-in is only available for WordPress at this moment. I installed it to my another blog and I'll to see how it works. I would like to enable Sxore on this blog as well in the future. Only thing that catches me is that the flourish of this service relies on their availablity and popularity. I think they definitely should support for Drupal.
Akismet by Matthew Mullenweg
This is spam fighter plugin for WordPress, and also it seems something to do with identity as well. Oh, he is the guy making WordPress?! Hum, I personally never had a probem with spammers since this blog is handmade by me. Even my another blog, run by WordPress, doesn't have any spam coming in, at least not yet.. Akismet requires WordPress.com membership to get an API key. It's kind of funny that making my WordPress blog to be able to use Akismet, I need to make another blog at WordPress.com? I really don't know how I would use the WordPress.com blog. Anyways, He is going for making a blog tool that his mother can handle! I think it says alot. WordPress is already a really good software for making blogs and websites. Well, it looks like an very easy solution for someone having trouble fighting against spammers. I still have to dig on this further. Again, I'd like to see if I can make this work on this (handmade) blog.
AJAX for Geeks with Dave Johnson
It was a brief AJAX introduction. He talked not much more than I knew. Oh, I just found that they are hiring! I am playing some AJAX for the project I am developing now. It seems not too hard. I'm probably pretty good at this, considering being anti-JavaScript web developer for a long time.
Ma.gnolia
I've been actually using this since their Public Developer Preview released. I think it even feels good to use this tool because their graphics are pretty and their interfaces are nicely done. I found out that this is built with Ruby on Rails. It seems buggy on my browser somehow, using their bookmarklet, slashes and some other charaters becomes url encoded... Oh, I just found out my bookmarklet is different from the current one. So, I guess I just should use the new one instead. I hope someone could tell me about this though. I'm already in the mood to switch from del.icio.us. I'll see how this service goes.

Ok, that's it for now. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy some of my photos on Flickr.
