A Farewell

I just found out my friend Tim Dennis has left Japan and cruising on the Pacific ocean, heading to the American continent. Be aware my friends in Canada, he will be landing at Vancouver in a few weeks.

I met him in the beginning of September at my friend's house in neighborhood. He told me he came from Scotland. Well, that was not a big surprise yet. However, he said he drove all way to get here. What? He showed me the awesome vehicle, his RamblingRat expedition partner, the Toyota Landcruiser.

Ramblingrat 4Wheeler

It has got so much everything in it like hot shower, a sleeping tent on roof, a freezer and a refrige. He started driving from his homeland, Scotland, then passing through Russia, and landed to Japan. He has been stopped by police men once because his car has only the British car lisence plate. Well, it's likely the first time seeing a car driven with a foregin lisence plate for many people in Japan, and even for those police men.

Tim is calling this adventure as Ramblingrat, trying to help funding for StreetKids.org. I think he has more plans on the way, but for now, I really love to see that he is doing for what he loves. That is very inspiring.

Even though he has got a website running and has got a black MacBook, he is quite new to these digital gadgets. While he stayed in Kyushu island, I was more than happy to help him out on his website and to share my knowledge about the internet and stuff.

It was all by the chance him meeting me in Japan to begin with. Another coincidence was that he made an arrangement to arrive to Vanvoucer after a while he was searching for possibilites to get him to the American continents. I already refer him to Robert Sanzalone since Tim was driving around Nagoya, also I thought they can have some productive relationships. I am also hoping that some of my other friends in Vancouver will catch up with this story before he arrives.

Sadly, it's not likely to happen to see him again in Japan though I would love to stay in touch with him for a long time. I will see his updates in Twitter, Facebook, Spot and his website. I love the technologies that we have now. Ciao my friend.

Hi Quinn,Any idea exactly when he'll be arriving in Vancouver? I'll blog about his stop here and refer back to yours.
